Vanities
Custom bathroom vanities
Built for wet rooms
A bathroom is the hardest room in the house on cabinetry. We seal every edge and the inside of sink cutouts, choose sheet goods that stay flat in humidity, and use finishes that stand up to daily water. Near the coast, where salt air adds to it, those choices matter even more.
Drawers are planned around the trap and supply lines rather than losing the whole space under the sink, and we coordinate the drain height and wall blocking with your plumber before rough-in when we can.
Floating or floor-standing
Wall-hung vanities make a small room feel bigger and are easy to clean under; they need solid blocking in the wall, which is simple to plan before drywall. Floor-standing and furniture-style vanities suit traditional rooms and carry heavy stone tops without extra structure. We build both, and can integrate sinks in stone, plaster or solid surface from your fabricator.
The floating oak vanity under a black trough sink and the oak powder-room vanity with an integrated plaster sink in our work gallery are examples of the first kind.
FAQ
Common questions
- Floating or floor-standing vanity?
- Floating vanities open up a small room and are easy to clean under, but need blocking in the wall. Floor-standing vanities suit traditional rooms and heavy tops. Both work well; we recommend based on the room, the top and the plumbing.
- What woods hold up in a humid bathroom?
- Rift white oak, walnut and maple all hold up well when every edge is sealed and the finish is right for wet rooms. Stable sheet goods matter as much as the species; we choose cores that stay flat in humidity.
- How long does a custom vanity take?
- Shop drawings typically take 1–2 weeks after the site measure, and fabrication typically takes 6–10 weeks from drawing approval. A single vanity can sometimes be fit in sooner depending on what else is in the shop.
- Do you supply the countertop and sink?
- We build the vanity and coordinate with your stone or solid-surface fabricator, who templates the top on site after the vanity is installed.
