Custom cabinets & built-ins for Los Angeles’ coast
The Pacifica Mill is a custom cabinetry and millwork shop in Malibu, California, and the cabinetry shop of Atelier Pacifica. We build bathroom vanities, closets, built-ins, media walls, wall paneling, interior doors and furniture, in frameless or face-frame construction. Materials are rift and plain-sawn white oak, walnut and maple, with prefinished or veneer-core plywood and Baltic birch. Blum soft-close hardware is standard and drawers are dovetailed or doweled. Every part is CNC-cut and then hand-finished in stain, lacquer, oil or two-tone paint. Shop drawings typically take 1–2 weeks, and fabrication typically takes 6–10 weeks from drawing approval.
Built-ins are where a house shows whether it was finished with care. Old walls are rarely plumb, so every piece is scribed on site to close the gaps a box from a catalog leaves behind.
Because the paneling, doors and cabinetry come from one shop, the grain, color and reveals line up from room to room. On Larkspur Lane in Malibu that meant a wall-hung oak vanity, oak gym paneling and a full-height lacquered shelving wall in the same house. See the rooms.

Bathroom vanities
Floating and furniture-style vanities for main baths and powder rooms, with edges sealed for daily water.
Closets and dressing rooms
Hanging, shelving and drawers sized to what you own, with lit interiors and doors that match the house.
Built-ins, libraries and media walls
Shelving, window seats and media walls scribed to the walls, with wiring and ventilation planned in the drawings.
Paneling, doors and trim
Wall paneling, wainscot, interior and concealed doors, and casings milled to profile in the same wood as the cabinetry.
Furniture and one-offs
Dining tables, beds, consoles and single pieces in solid wood, with joinery you can see.

We measure on site and work from your architect’s or designer’s drawings, or help design from scratch.
Shop drawings
Elevations, sections and samples for sign-off. Typically 1–2 weeks.
Fabrication and finish
CNC-cut, assembled and hand-finished in Malibu. Typically 6–10 weeks from approval.
Install
Delivered, scribed and adjusted by our crew, and walked with you at the end.
